So I created a website/blog and I'm a complete newbie. I went with weebly because I found it to be so easy, but I feel like the professional blogs all go with wordpress. What do you think? Am I on the right track or should I move to wordpress or even have someone build the website to get me started? Thanks for your feedback and I hope you don't think it is too terrible!

Here is the website: chatterTOT - WELCOME

I've checked out the site why not give it a good header for it a good navigation bar under the header and make it like a magazine type of template. Give it also a good Logo to start with ... the background is good thou. anyways good luck with a make over of your site.

Personally, I found the background a bit distracting. Its quite bright, and I think the colors are a bit too strong for a background. Backgrounds after all are just meant to break up the emptiness of plain whitespace, and not to distract at all from the site content.

Also, other than the background, the only other colour on the page is the text - I would strongly suggest including some relevent images with your posts, to both enhance the content, and also break the monotony of plaintext (especially for the welcome page!). Images, if chosen well, will also communicate with the reader, and help them relate to what it is you are posting. If you want them to return to your site, this is of paramount importance.

Also, as mentioned, a nice header banner and logo would compliment your site well. Simple text headings such as that you have now are generally unremarkable, and don't really give your viewers anything by which to identify your site. Your navigation menu is quite simple too: I'd suggest giving the bar a solid background at least, otherwise it gets 'swallowed up' by the background, and is not as noticeable.

Hope that you find what I've said helpful, and good luck with your website!

Nice work Madelyndon, but I think you should improve its texture and Heading color.

I think the background has a nice look but to strong. It bugs me. I would not stay and read text on that site.

The text is to wide... hard to read with that wide of an area, add a sidebar.

I would never use anything but Wordpress, there are to many positives for using it.
There is no reason why any two Wordpress sites should ever have to look the same. Just make a theme.

I like the site, especially for a beginner. (my first sites looked horrible compared to this) I would say that it can be improved. Like some others mentioned earlier, keep what you have and make small changes when you have time and input that you trust. Always keep learning and eventually you'll have a beautiful that you created and the next one you make will be even better and easier.
