Hello,

I bought a squeeze page template, I have been trying to edit it in Kompozer but if I make the slightest change the entire table moves up and covers the header graphic. All I am doing is changing text, I am not messing with table sizing or anything.

Anyone have any idea what would make this happen?

Kompozer is a visual editor, it may be reformatting your code in visual mode (look at EDIT > PREFERENCES > GENERAL and make sure "Reformat HTML source" is not selected) - try using the plain text tab, or edit the page in another HTML editor or plain text editor instead. If that doesn't work, post the code here, so we can have a look.

I don't see a preferences tab under the edit tab. Could I pm you the template and see if you can make a change? Just something as small as changing the email address is messing it up for me.

I'm using Kompozer under Linux - if you use Windows, the Preferences may be elsewhere, try under Tools ...

Ok I found it. Reformat HTML sourse is not selected. Any other ideas what the problem could be?

Use a plain text/HTML editor instead - on Windows, try Notepad++, Html-kit (the old version is free and very good), etc.

I just tried notepad ++ and it worked!!! Thanks for your help!! Out of curiousity, any idea why it would work in a plain html editor and not a visual one?

There may be too many possibilities to answer, in any case thank you very much for your help!

Some visual editors (in particular, MS Frontpage) tend to add "invisible" code, or generate their code in non-standard ways, which can mess up your result. Not saying Kompozer did that (I sometimes use it myself), just pointing it out. Plain text editors, on the other hand, don't generally do that...
