Go to your Fantastico link in your Cpanel. Choose Wordpress.

I assume I would need a Hosting account for this, I mean that is where I find my Fantastico link, correct?

Please do not use affiliate links in signatures

Yes, you need a web hosting account. Using a paid web host is much better than using free wordpress blog; you have more control over your site.

X2. Easy to install. Make sure you do a few things though after you install it:
      • Install Login Lockdown
      • Change the admin login name to something other than "admin" (bots know this, and scan for "admin") Login Lockdown will lockout the account for XX minutes for failed login attempts.
      • Use a generated, long password with uppercase, lowercase, numbers & special characters. In the area of 15+ characters.
      • Move the wp-config file. Just create a file in your home directory and use a php include in the original wp-config file to include the database information

If you choose Hostgator as your host, customer service will help you setup your first domain with wordpress.

This is true, although, they will simply tell you how to install it. They're not going to configure it correctly or take any of the security measures I listed above.

FYI - I'm not knocking HG in anyway....

You'll need a hosting account. I recommend hostgator. Then within the cpanel (The address will be emailed to you), look for the fantastico icon. Then there should be a wordpress option there. If you're confused or lost, you can simply chat or call hostgator to walk you through. They have really good support and it's 24/7 so make use of that every now and then.

May I suggest you begin with this link: WordPress Lessons « WordPress Codex

These are beginners' lessons actually provided to users in the Wordpress Codex. Reading and leaning with information from the program writers themselves has to give you a great basis from which to move forward...

You need a domain. I recommend Namecheap.
Then you need hosting. I recommend Hostgator.
Then in Namecheap, change the nameservers of the domain to the Hostgator nameservers. You'll get the nameserver info when you sign up for the hosting account.

Then go to your cpanel in your Hosting account. Click on Fantastico and install Wordpress. Then search around for a good Wordpress theme and upload that to the theme folder.

    The theme folder is domain.com/wp-content/themes

Any plugins you want to install you upload to the plugin directory which is
    domain.com/wp-content/plugins

You need a proper manual, try Melanie Mendelson's http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...d-reviews.html - it will be a worthwhile investment, I guarantee.

Best approach would be fantasico, which I noticed someone already mentioned above. You can create new installations of wordpress in a matter of seconds though. Just though you should know! best wishes mate, and good luck!

    Hi Dan,

The easiest way to set up a wordpress blog is to use the free platform at WordPress.com

There is plenty of support and video training available on how to easily use WordPress at WordPress.tv

Now, you did ask for the "easiest way to set up a wordpress blog" and not about the "best" way if you are doing affiliate marketing.

IF you plan on doing that, then you will want to go with your own hosting provider as there are certain restrictions that apply on those that provide free blogging platforms and you are also investing your time on a blog that you are not fully in control of. Meaning, the free blogging platforms can remove your blog at any time for any reason whatsoever.

However, it still makes for a great learning platform for you to easily and without any money investment on your part to see if you even like WordPress...which I can't imagine you wouldn't

When you do get your own hosting, they should also have some standard support videos for you, much like what we have for our clients:
webtutorials.thesourcepublishing.com - Web Hosting Video Tutorial Series

    Have fun!
