    Hi bloggerr,

When looking at the link, I'm instantly turned off. This is my personally opinion. The whole 'diet pill' fiasco is getting old. However, luckily for you, there are many people out there looking for a 'quick fix'.

The site design is nice and looks professional. The logo could use a bit of work, but I really like the color palette, and the layout works well. The only thing that's weird, and this may be because of my 24' monitor, but I'm not fond of the left positioning. I think I'd rather see it centered.

    Cheers,
    Curtis

Hi Curtis, you're absolutely right. the keyword "diet pills" in my domain really make it difficult for me to even make an honest comment at most blogs. almost all the time my comments will go straight to akismet
but what can I do? my products are diet pills, and search engine apparently love domain with keywords in its name.
I also think my left alignment is not a very good idea. Will try to center it (still have some problems with the css thing )
      thanks for the review!
      Harry.

    Thanks for your comment kcartlidge.
But there is a continuation. The complete sentence is like this:
"This is the best diet pills on the market!" How often have you heard this line? - and fallen for it? Yet, slimmer wallet and several inches fatter belly, you are still searching for the best diet pill that delivers its promises.
I put that line ("This is the best diet pills on the market!") for SEO purpose. According to "SEO experts", it's a good idea to put your main keyword at the first sentence.

I understand that some people detest diet pills. Lots of them can be dangerous and have many side effects. But all the side effects are clearly stated in the box. And some people do really need it. For some people life can be unbearable if you are "too different" than a lot of other people. Not to mention direct and immediate health problems. I'm talking about obese people here.

I guess you haven't read all of my reviews there, some products are really effective but have nasty side effects (and I'm not selling it), some products (especially new released products) have no known side effects and contain only natural sources. And many doctors endorse it.

I'm not trying to talk about the products here, it will be OOT I guess , but I think I get the points. Apparently my site hasn't been successful yet to make the visitors reading it (read through different reviews). Or maybe because the visitors didn't go there looking for solution of their problems?

All, please enlighten me.. Any idea to make visitors stay longer?

Originally Posted by kcartlidge View Post

I do not expect you to give me 'thanks' for my comment though as that's as far as I'm going into the site.

I detest the whole diet pill arena. Many products can be very damaging to the health and they don't tackle underlying issues. In some cases the pills themselves are actually illegal.

I know one purpose of this forum is for discussions on making money, but I believe there is space for ethics too. Sorry.

I would edit your CSS template to center the page. There are some grammatical issues that you might want to take a look at. I would also, question why every pill was given a 5 star rating in every category if this is an un-biased site. What qualifications do you have to review these items. I'm a bit afraid of potential legal backlash on these types of sites. Even with disclaimers.

The layout is fine, the green is a bit to pastel for me though.

Centering the page is already in my to-do-list.
Will also think about the rating and color

This site can make money. I disagree with the much of what the previous posters said.

If I'm a visitor to this site I'm not reading copy, I'm scanning and, I'm looking to CLICK fast.

Put a strong call to action above the fold. Make all the product images clickable. Focus on what you said in your post, "the goal of this site is to send the visitors to my aff site" ... when I hit your site, I'm looking for a way out ... this is a good thing. Give me one, quick.

Install a heatmap so you can see where people are clicking. Put affiliate links there.

Yikes bro. When we see the end of diets being sold, we'll all be broke.

      Hi Chris,

While I value your comments, do you seriously believe that people buying diet pills are ONLY looking for 'a way out'. If that were the case, all he would need is one big button that said "buy now". Yes, they're desperate, I agree, but honestly...

End of diets being sold?? You do realize that diet pills are NOT the only way to diet, riiight? I hate to tell you this, but if you want to loose weight, you actually have to work at it, and no amount of 'pills' are going to help you. And there are many people finally starting to realize that.

If he wants to catch people's attention, he better a) have a good looking page, and b)provide some concrete reasons WHY they should buy the pills, and how they will benefit them.

Yes one big button that says 'buy now' are what most CPA landing pages look like. (slight exaggeration but not by much) It's called a "call to action". Go look at any of the **** offer pages that are raking in millions right now.

        And I agree.

I assume the goal here isn't to help people lose weight it's to make sales. People don't want to put in the work to lose weight they want a magic solution that they can buy cheaply and make their weight disappear. Diet, get rich quick, these markets aren't going anywhere.

If he wants to make sales he needs to drive lots of qualified traffic to his page, hopefully presell them a bit (not a requirement) and get them to a merchant page that converts.

I would give the site 3 stars.

I normally use a wide screen monitor 1680x1050 which affects my opinion, but your website occupies the left half of the screen the rest is solid blank green. Try to get it to center. (I looked at it on 1024x768 and it it much better, but still a little left)

You should go over the copy of all the reviews, many of the articles appear to be written by an ESL person. There are numerous grammar errors.

You might be able find a student in the US, Canada or UK who could rewrite really inexpensively. Maybe searching in a place like facebook or myspace would find one.

Or you could find a classroom teacher in an English speaking location and offer them a reward to have their students do your stuff as classwork

    Hi bloggerr,

I suggest you add more 'internal linking' to your pages to increase your ranking.
currently you are BOLDING but not linking for the keywords you are trying to rank for.

secondly, the site 'home' link is only avail at the bottom - add it to the top right colum - I would also like to have the 'Diet pill zone' area changed to a clickable image linked to home page - not a biggie but most people have that 'expectation' to clik on log and get to home page.

Kcartlidge is spot on with his assessment. I'm going to focus on how the user perceives your page when they land there.

Your first bolded sentence is "This is the best diet pills on the market." This immediately turns people off because it smacks of sales, overblown results and exaggeration. Yes, the following sentence tells people that you aren't actually making that claim but no one will read that far. I didn't. Yes, it might be good for SEO, but what's the point of great SEO if your first sentence turns everyone away? You need to balance the user and the search engines.

Even if you switch those first two sentences, you'll grab a whole lot more people.
    Example:
How often have you heard this line? - And fallen for it?
"This is the best diet pills n the market!"

Your next sentence isn't proper English so will need some cleaning up. "Yet, slimmer wallet and several inches fatter belly..."

I would discuss the embarassment people feel at being overweight. This is an extremely emotional issue, so discuss that to draw people in to reading more.

The second issue is the 5 star ratings. I only looked at the first two and saw they had all 5 stars. In my mind, this site immediately lost value and my respect as it looked to me like you rated everything that way. I didn't go beyond the first two reviews the first time I saw it and I bet thousands of others don't either. I suggest putting a low ranking suggestion first or second so people can instantly see you're actually evaluating the pills and aren't full of hot air saying they're all great. Seeing an honest review at the beginning encourages people to trust your feedback and read more.

The most effective pages keep the user in mind and how they see and interpret your page. You can have all the traffic in the world but if you aren't converting visitors to buyers, the site isn't doing it's job. Focus on the buyers and their needs.

    No thanks necessary.

I did that before (less than 5 stars review), until I see the no 1 site with my keyword at Google's search result give all the products he reviewed 5 stars! And the site has been number one (in an extremely competitive keyword) for months (won't happen if the bounce rate is too high).
But perhaps I can give 4 stars for one of the criteria and write something like this: "Want to know more why we gives only 4 stars for ....? Read more". then bring them to my review page that monetize. How about that?

There must be something else about your competition's site that's keeping them at the top. If you work on serving the client and balancing that with SEO, you can eventually move ahead of them. They may have been around longer, have a bigger site, better inbound links etc. There are all kinds of variables and them giving all products 5 stars shouldn't have anything to do with their search engine rankings.

"Want to know more why we give only 4 stars for...?" is a great way to get people to keep reading and stay interested. Reviews are much more accepted if negative aspects of a product are listed. Then people trust your site more and decide if they can live with whatever negative comments are listed. Very often they can because we all know nothing is perfect, but knowing what to expect up front is highly valued.

A great tool for testing the effectiveness of the suggestions given on this thread is the Google Website Optimizer (or any other split/multivariate testing tool).

e.g. Test the hypothesis that giving each product 5 star reviews reduces your credibility and results in lower click-through. You can setup a test to serve 50% of your visitors 5 stars and 50% 4 stars (or whatever you define). You can then see EXACTLY which results in more clickthroughs.

You can test multiple things at once as well. Different headlines with different product pictures with different calls to action. Google will run every permutation of those combinations and again tell you exactly which results in the highest clickthroughs.

It's actually really easy to implement too.

    Hi there
    ok, here goes honest.
    • header: using one graphic with just text , even just text if you can't use a graphic
    • fonts: would pare it down to 2 or 3 max in the same family if possible
    • color: the greens work, but the gradient isn't doing anything for me
    • menu text on right is coming across very small
    • the english sentence structure needs work
    • The article layouts themselves are well done and organized
some simple changes and text updates will finish the site off nicely

The biggest thing I noticed first was how small each link is. I like the clean light colors and style though.
