I'm Jumping Ships - Please Review

After 12 months promoting other people's products in just about every niche going, I've decided to jump ships. Goodbye to affiliate marketing and hello to product creation.

As I've been lifting weights since 1987 then my chosen niche is bodybuilding. I'll be releasing an ebook later this month but in the meantime I'm putting time into establishing myself on the bodybuilding forums and syndicating my articles.

Anyway, to kick things off, I've created my first 'authority' web site and would appreciate any comments you kind folk may have.

I've deliberately gone for a simple, 'non salesy' layout, my main focus on establishing credibility and building a list. Once visitor figures grow, I may add a few side bar banners.

Anyway, appreciate your feedback, good or bad :0).

I would suggest adding images to your posts - the plain black and grey is not very appealing. Go for a theme that allows you to a header or logo and colour to the design.

Given the niche - some relevant videos will go a long way in making the content more appealing and increase reader engagement.

As your site grows then I would suggest adding a slideshow of workouts linking to your internal related articles.

    Good luck,
    Zulf

Agree completely. The black and grey combo usually isn't attractive, however I think your site is appealing enough to gain visitors respects and attention. All together, not a bad site. But that theme seems almost everywhere. Just my opinion.

Cheers for the feeback fellas, much appreciated, some good pointers. Yes, the theme is a little bland, perhaps too bland. Thanks again.

    Hi Rob,

I'm lifting weights as well, about 16 years now. If you want to build your list, I suggest to offer a free report about getting ripped right now.
There is a lot of traffic on this topic coming up when the winter is over.

    Cool content btw!

Going against the grain on this one, I like the simplicity of the grey/white colour choices youve made, however a more appealing logo/header/banner wouldnt do any harm..

also I think the right sidebar is too busy and moves the attention away from the content, possible consider reducing the content or separating it more from the main content ie a little more spacing between each section..

nice job all the same, got anything relevant for someone coming off an injury thats not been able to exercise much over a good year but keen to get back into form PM me
