Squeeze Pages within WordPress or separate directories?

Here's my dilemma: I want to build simple, but premium squeeze pages for affiliate offers (considering advice from others that simple landing pages build lists but not necessarily "converting" lists), but can't really find a way to build them within WordPress itself (for example with OptimizePress which only employs simple squeeze pages). Do you think, having a url such as:

http://domain.com/offers/offer.html

would impact sales in any way? I figure, since I can't build them as part of WordPress, I'd just build them in a subdirectory of my WordPress installation in plain HTML. Any suggestions or ideas from the experienced marketers on here?

Your squeeze page doesn't have to be in a sub-directory. You could just put it in the root directory if you want.

  Yes, I understand that (just having .html pages) but those HTML pages will of course accompany pictures and other content which I would rather like to have organized into folders... just wondering whether having domain.com/offers/offer.html would affect conversions at all?

I've got mine set within a directory and have no problems with conversions etc...

Personally for me its easier to set it up in that way.

Essentially I have two wordpress installations...

I just realized I could make squeeze/landing pages with a FULL WIDTH template on the main website -- that way the squeeze page is attached to a credible website. Do you guys think that would be helpful? Or is it just better to have them in a separate directory?
