This subject may be a bit broad for this forum, but share some more details and I may be able to help out in some way.

Thank you for your response. I bought some website templates that I want customize and use as my own sites but don't know how to do this. How can I edit and rename the web template with my URL and upload it to the internet so that it's a full functional website that I want it to be?
Thanks for you help in this regards,
      Anthony

Use a HTML editor (NVU,PSPad Editor) to edit the text and use Photoshop or any other graphic editor to edit the images.

Are these HTML templates or are you speaking of WordPress themes?

Either way editing them will require a basic understanding of HTML and PHP, and a good editor - PS Pad or NVU are free and will work fine.

If you want help with this there are many Warriors (myself included) who would be happy to assist you. If you anticipate doing this type of work a lot in the future you might want to hire someone to train you in the basics, a few hours of instruction may save you a lot of time in the future. From your question it sounds like you also may want to research the hosting aspect - procuring a domain name and getting a hosting account.

Good luck, please let me know if I can be of any assistance

    Anthony,

    1) can I ask you if this is for a site that you want to make money with
    2) or are you playing around to wet your feet in website design?

this is important because if you want to MAKE MONEY then buying a template and uploading to your domain is not going to do it.

Before a site is build it needs a goal and a target market 'niche' and then website optimization to get you traffic and then eventually sales.

Now, you can spend the next 3-6 months learning this or get it done for you and FOCUS on what you are good and probably make a lot more money.

Think of it this way - say if you worked overtime for 20 -40 hrs you can probaly pay for the site design and development - or spend the next 3-6months doing it yourself

My advise - Build on your strengths, and dont try to do everyting.
And if just putting up a site is the goal - stick with wordpress - you can have it up in 30 min with the many tutorials available and it has hundreds of modules to help you optimize your site and get traffic.
Learning SEO and appling that to templates will take a lot of your time.

i recomend using macromedia dreamweaver. that's what got me started in template editing. it also has tons of features including a tool that updates the edited files straight to your site.
