I'm trying to find a wordpress theme suited for a static site, not a blog. Specifically, I really want one that completely takes out any reference on the theme to "comments" of any kind (ie comments are closed, no comments, post comment etc). Anyone know of any good ones for this, paid or otherwise? Tks

The way to do this is to locate a wordpress theme you want, and then go to Editor and locate "comments" "header" "footer," etc. and delete them.

You can then go into your setting and make whatever page you wish your static page. From there people can see any posts you make. Just be sure to add "recent posts" to your widgets.

    I hope this helps.

"Optimize press" comes to mind! It's what I use for launch pages, static pages, squeeze pages...All that .

Tks, I took a look at optimize press. Not bad, but really looking for a simple theme at this point.

In the Settings section of the menu click on the link called "Discussion", untick everything and nobody will have any option to comment, or see any reference to comments. I'm pretty sure this is going to apply for the majority of the themes out there.

Yes this turns off comments, but the reference to comments still exists in the post ie "comments are closed" etc. This has to be manually taken out of the code.
