I use the WordPress › Plugin Central « WordPress Plugins plugin - just enter a list of plugins to install, and it will do it for you in a few seconds. You still have to manually activate them, though.

    Hi,

You can use Filezilla (free ftp client) and upload all that you need at the same time.

I have over a hundred websites and I faced the same issue. It's tedious and time consuming. You should get a hosting account with shell access and create a template directory that has all the files you need for that account.

    - wordpress extracted and moved out of wordpress directory
    - all the plugins extracted in the correct directory
    - a wp-config.php file created and writable

Then I created a script that I could run from a single command that copied all the files form the master directory and changed the wp-config permissions.

You do have to do a manual mySQL setup for each account and mannually go through all the wordpress installations which is good so you know its tailored for the site. The point is all the files you need - plugins, and wp-config, are all copied and consistent with your other sites.

    Hope this helps,
    Artemis

The main difference between FTP and the WordPress › Plugin Central « WordPress Plugins plugin I mentioned, is that with FTP you first have to download the plugins to your computer, and then upload the plugins manually to the server - often over a slow internet connection. If you have many plugins, this can take some time. In addition, the plugin versions you are uploading, may not even be the latest versions, which will make an update afterwards necessary.

The Plugin Central plugin, on the other hand, downloads and installs the latest version of the plugins directly from the WordPress repository - which is very fast. All it takes is to paste the plugin names (as many as you like), and hit "Install". Then activate - done! Looks like this:

I just don't remember right now but I saw a software ...you can use that to upload all the plugins at once. actually you can just make a master site and then clone it many times over.. That way you can keep making new sites without having to do all manually... just have to dig in my HD and find that tool

this is something I would like to have not only to make plugins uploads more quickly, but also to have all the various settings already put in place. Please, let us know if you find it!!

Use a torentz site to download WP theme down-loader which would help you download themes in bulk
