Best Premium Theme For Beginner?

Hi all,

I am trying to decide on which is the best premium theme for my blog.
I have narrowed it down to Thesis; Genesis with a Child theme; Catalyst; and Woo Canvas Theme - so basically all of them pretty much

Question is, which one is best for a complete beginner who has no idea about code and little inclination to study it.

It is for a blog type site, so I'm not worried too much about the bells and whistles. As long as it gives me the ability to make the site look attractive and professional.

    There is no such thing as "the best theme". Beginner or not. Especially, if you don't want to do any coding, then it really doesn't matter: get one that looks like you'd like it and go with it.

    I think instead of investing in premium themes you should go for free themes for now and then study the wordpress CMS and how themes work in wordpress. Try playing with various themes, once you are comfortable with them and if you think you are good with them, you can buy a premium theme and then customize it as you want.

      I agree, you should try the free themes for now, particularly the wordpress themes since it is very user friendly and also familiarize yourself on how this themes work.

    I would recommend Headway if you don't know any code. I myself don't know code and enjoy Headway's drag and drop ability with full customization of every aspect.

    Who ever asks for "the best" is in my opinion very immature.

    I personally prefer Genesis since it's simple, stable and easy to learn. But that all depends on your current php/html/js skill level.

      Maybe pop your head out of the trenches occasionally and remember what it was like when you first started out.

      Have gone for the Catalyst theme.
      Initially a bit overwhelming, but they have some cracking screencasts and videos in their support section. Slowly, slowly catchey monkey, but my site is coming together quite nicely sofar.

    Just make sure it is a widget friendly wordpress theme. It is more IMPORTANT that you figure what information you put on your blog, and how it will eventually lead to a sale.

    Design counts for nothing if it does not help you convert.

    Elegant-themes are also very nice and feature-packed.

    But I think you can find with some well placed google search very nice looking and good quality free themes.

    Just make sure that they are compatible with the latest version of wordpress 3.1 and that support menus and widgets.

    Personally I have been using The Headway Theme which is probably the only theme you'll ever need. It is as the others have said, an easy to use drag and drop and the user interface and is very intuitive. The latest version is the best yet and I think if you want to make simple or complex sites based upon the WordPress CMS then Headway would certainly be a great investment and you'll grow into it the more you use it.
