When I make new posts I see the editor

But

When I make category landing pages

It allows you to insert html or whatever but it does not want to show the editor

I do know that its capable of showing it
I Have seen it on some themes show up

I also got it to show up one time by deleting "uncategorized" category
but that seemed to cause a lot of other problems

as it stands now I see no editor at all , no B for bold, no colors, no "html" or choices like it has

I found one post on a wordpress help blog that says this may be caused by having erroneously uploaded an .htaccess file to a folder in wordpress where it was not supposed to be

any suggestions

What is a "category landing page"? (I thought I know - almost - everything about WP and I've never heard about this)

I use cat's as landing pages in the sense that I direct link to the cat's but other than that I don't know what he refering too.. instead of using the cat list in the widget I hard code all the cat's to foward to a page within..

You are just as confused as the OP... or not able to describe correctly what you are doing

If you have a WP site at
      example.com

and you have categories called "outwest" and "solidsoul"... then clicking on a category name (anywhere!!!) would bring you to the default:
      example.com/category/outwest/
      example.com/category/solidsoul/

AND listing all the posts in that category. (Of course, the tag "category" can be changed to ANYTHING you want in your permalink settings)

If that (correct term: category archive) webpage is what you guys are referring to as "category landing page" then NO, you can never edit it - because it is displayed (automatically) by one of these template files of your theme:
      - category-XX.php (XX being the cat ID)
      - category.php (for all cats)
      - archive.php (if no category template)
      - index.php (the general fallback for EVERY template if they are not present)
