Anyone has experience installing wordpress with Fantastico?

For myself and my clients I use SSH/SVN way to install and upgrade Wordpress because it's so fast and predictable.

Does fantastico helps anyhow when it's time to upgrade Wordpress to a higher version? Or leaves you stuck with FTP?

In my opinion Fantastico is the easiest and fastest way to install Wordpress.

There's no need to upload any files. All it takes is a few clicks.

    Upgrading is just as easy.

Also, once you upgrade to Wordpress 2.7, you can upgrade within your WP-Admin.

I've tried both methods of installing/upgrading. Fantastico wins hands down. The only issue I've had is that it can take a little while after the launch of a new version of WP before my webhost has it available through Fantastico. But, when you look at the convenience, that's not a problem at all.

    Gleb,
Fantasitio installs are usually not the latest WP ver so I always pref to get the latest and upload it myself...it takes 5min instead of 1min in fantastico and then you are left with update anyway.

      Currently Fantastico installs 2.7.

Instead of installing 2.7.1 manually. What you can do is, install 2.7 using Fantastico and once installed, upgrade to 2.7.1 from within the WP-Admin.

    Yay!
WP 2.7 does it automatically from inside admin panel.

    That probably answers my concern.
    Thanks!
