My client has given me their ftp login details. I had asked for the hosting login details so I could create a subdomain. Can I create a subdomain through ftp?
#create #ftp #subdomain

It could be possible using htaccess mod_rewrite. Have a look, you might find your answer.

Do you know for sure how to do it without having access to site admin panel and DNS records?
If yes, link to the resources (or describe it briefly).

If you are just guessing... rather don't post.

Oh yes, it's common among web-developers and programmers alike to theories on what could or what couldn't be done, only us can understand completely and a few who aren't among us could.

One of which topic from a different forum describes the details of the possibilities. I've not read the the entire lot but this should give the OP a subtle hint.

In general, you use the hosting control panel to create the subdomain (DNS). I would think twice about entering a client's username and password and accessing their account without a written agreement.

Have them contact the web host to set up the subdomain.
