Exit Popup on Weebly?

Okay, okay... I'll admit. I'm pretty new to website design. Because of that, I decided to build a free site with weebly and just foward/mask my pretty domain name to that.

What I'm trying to do now is create an exit popup. Not just a regular popup that will come up after someone leaves, but one of those 'DID YOU MEAN TO CLICK THAT X?' popups that shows up when you start to leave the site.... but that doesn't pop up when they go to a link in my site or one of the other pages on the site. Ideally, I'd also like to include an opt in form from trafficwave, but i don't mind to redirect to the opt in page if that's all i can do.

I'm very, very new to html/javascript.... but I've been searching all over google for an HTML code that would help me. I've yet to find anything talking about where you could put the code into weebly. I've seen a few things built specifically for wordpress, but i need just a plain code that i can copy, paste, and fill in the correct information for weebly.

weebly does have that 'custom html' box that you can ad to your page, and they have header and footer codes that you can add as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Upload the "esitscript.php" file to the websites directory and go to settings-> seo (I think) -> footer code.

Then just paste the exit script in the footer code box and save it!

I messed around with this for hours yesterday and never could get it working. The most I could get to work was a regular popup that was, of course, instantly blocked by a popup blocker. lol.

Do you know where i could find a good exitscript? I've searched for several exit popup scripts, but I can't quite figure out which parts I need to change and fill in with my information. Apparently I wasn't doing it quite right because it never worked. lol

How do I get rid of a McAfee popup without uninstalling the program?

I want to keep my McAfee program but am frustrated with a popup informing me that the AntiVirus Plus has been updated. Clicking on the "OK" box does not close the popup! Nothing gets rid of the annoying popup. It seems the only way to get rid of it is to uninstall my McAfee program!

Hi, I think you might have accidentally posted this wrong. Maybe you meant to post a new thread? You probably won't find as many responses to that inquiry in this thread.

I dont think you can do that with Weebly. You can get a seperate pop-up page when you click a link, but not one on exit as far as I know. There`s no point trying to create custom html script using ftp because the next time you update your site Weebly will overwrite all your files omitting your changes. Been there - tried that.

is dreamweaver a site builder like weebly? I went to weebly because it was just so much easier to make things look nice. I haven't set up hosting or upgraded in weebly, just got the free site, bought a domain name, and forwarded/masked it to my free weebly site. I DO have a brainhost account, and I was thinking about moving it over, I just wasn't sure what effect that would have, if any.

And I do know that it's possible to set up a regular popup with weebly. I succeeded... but I didn't want people to come to my site and have their browser start bleeping for blocked popups. I always thought that was iffy when I went to a new site. Kinda spammy like.

And I'm sorry to be such a newb, but what does ftp stand for? lol
