Adding a picture to blog comments

How come a number of people have their pictures on blog comments, and some people, like me, do not.

I think this could be affecting my clickthrough rate. It's a bit like forum posts - you pay less attention to the ones without an avatar (maybe that's just me).

    If you are explaining with images, people will understand better but with text alone, its hard to know

    If you are speaking of blogs in general. The blogs are getting the pictures from Gravatar - Globally Recognized Avatars and it shows up in blog comments. Where you see a persons picture the blog owner has gone into their blog admin to the Discussion settings and selected Gravatar as the default avatar.

    You open a free account at Gravatar using the email address you use/enter when leaving blog comments and upload a picture. Then when you leave a comment on a blog you enter the same email in the comment form and your picture is displayed with your comment.
