Which one is better WordPress,Joomla or Drupal?
I prefer WordPress because it is easy to customize and userfriendly..But when Many clients come to me requesting an update to their outdated website, many of which are unfortunately a collection of static HTML web pages. My suggestion to many of these clients is to upgrade their website to a popular content management system (also referred to as CMS) known as WordPress..
What you people think..Please Cast your vote.

Thanks in advance.

I like the social media plugins of WordPress. One feature among many of the social media plugins one can use for their WP blog is video. Videos are really hot right now and the YouTube Channel is very customizable and a YouTube channel widget can be placed in the WP sidebar.

It has variable customized settings to make it really fit into your WP blog such as playlist, channel, aspect ratio, different meta display choices and of course width and height options.

No CMS os neccessarily better than the other, as it all depends on what you need out of your website.

If you don't know too much about coding etc then wordpress is good because it is so user friendly.

However if you want a more complex site then something like Joomla will serve you better.

I personally use Joomla because it is what I learnt how to use a few years back and I enjoy making my own templates / knowing I can create a structurally complex site etc.

WordPress started by focusing on ease of use and over time they've been adding features. Drupal started by focusing on features and over time they're making Drupal easier to use. I'm not familiar enough with Joomla to know where it started and where it is.

This partition depends on what you want, Wordpress is a great blog, is a simple nicely indexed in google, joomla it's more on the website also fairly easy to learn but not entirely, Drupal and is relatively difficult to learn without the knowledge of programwaniu.
For beginners and those who do not have patience, I recommend Wordpress.

Wordpress I have found to be the easiest to work with and has a massive list of free plugins. Joomla can be difficult to customize sometimes and I have had problems with file permissions on a number of occasions. Drupal seems to lie between the 2 in complexity. With the huge range of templates and plugins though that exist for Wordpress along with the fact that Google tends to index such sites quickly Wordpress is the way to go in most cases.

My own recent site though - see sig - is based on Xoops. Trouble is with Xoops a lot of older modules are no longer updated for the most recent versions. Even so I really like Xoops but you need to be able to carry out a lot of coding yourself to really make the most of it.

        With Wordpress You can:

        1. Blog
        2. Build Landing Pages
        3. Build Member Sites
        4. Build Forums
        5. Build Online Stores

And guess what with Joomla you can

        1. Blog
        2. Build Landing Pages
        3. Build Member Sites
        4. Build Forums
        5. Build Online Stores

I am well experienced with both systems. SEO is the same on both.

Besides if you are good on SEO it does not matter what you are using Wordpres, Drupal, or Joomla.

So my point here is that people have preferences and neither CMS system is better than the other one.

I'll agree. However if I'm voting I'll lean toward Drupal. I started with WP years ago and then moved to Drupal. It is easily modifiable and has a rich theme engine based on PHP. I've looked at Joomla but have not tried it.

If you know the customization all the CMS are good if you don't NONE. Even wordpress is not good if you do not know how to remove date from the URL.

For simple and easy user experience wordpress has all the things, for more complex and dynamic properties Joomla or dupal is the best option. It requires knowledge of PHP to customize as per the requirements.

For an established static website no CMS is good as it will change the URL structure. If you don't know the PHP never try any CMS or you'll loose the ranking.

I just wrote a post about this exact same subject a few days ago:
A Quick Guide to Content Management Systems

Basically, I've found WordPress is the easiest for clients and developers to use.

Client & end users can usually get to grips with the admin in no time at all. And the less time you have to spend explaining how to upload a jpeg the better

From a web developer point of view you'll find there's plugin for just about every situation / crazy client request you can think of. If not, because it's PHP based it's pretty easy to create a custom plugin.

I tried Drupal once and it made me want to shoot myself. So clunky and unnecessarily complicated.

They're all good. I've used Joomla and WordPress extensively and some Drupal, but not as much. However, I would say that WordPress is still hands-down the best blogging platform there is (even though it later developed the ability to be used as a general CMS also), but Joomla and Drupal were always CMSs from the outset and I think they are generally better suited to be a general CMS...but that's just my opinion on the matter. Just to throw some more confusion into the mix, I would say that out of all the CMSs I have used to deliver solutions to my clients - and they include Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, SilverStripe, Concrete5, Magento, OpenCart, PrestaShop and OSCommerce, I would have to say, my clients prefer SilverStripe from a user-friendly standpoint - they absolutely love it! So you might want to check it out! Warning though, you have to be a developer to build with SilverStripe, but the end-user does not have to be at all technical to be able to use it... but back to what I said at the start - Drupal, WordPress, Joomla - they are ALL good. Horses for Courses!

Wordpress is a CMS that is best used for sites that are necessary for blogs, or for building landing pages, or squeeze pages. You have some basic functionality by means of plugins, but most of the plugins that are created are one offs, and work independently of the rest of the site. There are also some plugins which allow you to do some basic eCommerce, but you are fairly limited, and does not allow for a lot of changes dynamically (add the products through the shopping cart site, and then copy and paste the code into your Wordpress site).

Drupal/Joomla on the other hand, are must more versatile. In working with both of them, I would say go with Drupal 100% of the time, as Drupal is a great platform for a CMS system that has outgrown a Wordpress website. One of the main factors for this, is that the use of the hook system, where your own code can tie in with a lot of the various modules are out there. Whether you need to make some small changes to forms, are adding your own custom code after a form has submitted to e-mail customers, or provide benefits to frequent posters, Drupal excels at this type of interaction.

Personally being a developer, I constantly find myself saying, "I can do that" when a client has a request for a new idea or module in drupal. The one downside, is that you can generally find that you can complete 90-95% of the website without ever writing a line of code, but it's that last 5-10% which causes people a lot of difficulty. That, or people are far too reliant on the contributed modules and are discouraged when it doesn't function in exactly the way they imagine. Still, for a eCommerce solution, Drupal exceeds.

So, to re-iterate, if you need to make a small blog site, go with Wordpress.
If you need to make a website with a ton of user interaction, ability to tie multiple pieces together, and allow different actions to call completely different types of code, then go with Drupal.

WordPress & Joomla are fairly easy to learn and use but, are limited in their expandability into a truly powerful and dynamic website. Drupal is only a little more complicated due to the vast amount of capabilities and the huge community of third party FREE modules that can be applied to Drupal's core system. I have built sites with WordPress and Joomla and only use Drupal for my clients and friends sites now. Once you get accustom to it, it becomes very apparent that Drupal is the best open source CMS available!

Drupal 7 has become ever easier to use than previous versions and is the only choice for the true professional web designer. In a nut shell, WordPress & Joomla are for beginners and Drupal is for the pros.

I think the question is the level of knowledge of each platform. The reason WP is most popular is because it has the largest number of plugins and themes. It is limited in its programming flexibility compared to Drupal. But how many people really know Drupal well enough to dig in and write code from the scratch? So, if you are a marketer not a programmer you probably will choose WP or Joomla with WP being a number one choice. WP has everything one would need to make money online or build stellar sites. Having said that, if you are building or managing a mega site with huge traffic, you probably want to go Drupal which will allow you to build most efficient publishing platform.

As an author of a CMS that fills a specific niche (small, primarily static websites), I've discovered that there are literally thousands of CMSes out there, not just three. You really need to look around and find which one will work best for your client's needs rather than ask other people to vote for their favorite CMS out of three fairly popular ones. You are going to end up with a bunch of non-answers. Your clients will appreciate the care you provide and they will come back to you time and again, which equates to more money.

The three most popular are that way because there is general support for those products. But consider that if you are providing the support for your clients, then your clients won't care what you use as the backend as long as it works. Also, all of my web developer friends complain that a lot of clients don't want to edit content even if it is possible for the client to do so. So you want to pick a CMS that you like and find easy to use because you will likely end up doing the editing yourself anyway.

    Here we go again.

A useless question (useless because the tool you are using shouldn't be determinde by popularity vote but by your expertize!) and 58 answers to it.

Out of those 58 only 9 or 10 can say they have experience with all three CMS.
Which means the rest of 48 (or 49) should not have posted since they lack the necessary knowledge to make an educated post...
    If this is you:
although I admit I've never used Wordpress, Joomla, or Drupal.
then do NOT post about your favourite... because that wasn't the question. Nobody asked what YOU like.
