    hi vaughn

firstly just take one step back and dont rush anything. If your an absolute newbie then its going to take you a while to get to grips with how things work online, its just the way it is

rather than ask about making a squeeze page, have you actually really thought about why you want squeeze page first?

if you dont have an autoresponder then its pointless creating a squeeze page because you wont be able to capture there name and email

personally i would stick to some basic methods to start with like creating some affiliate sites and start making money that way

if you try to start with doing more advance stuff like creating squeeze page and build a list as a complete newbie you will just end up getting really frustrated

this is how most of us start and there is a process to follow because untill you have some basic web skills you wont understand about how to do the more advanced stuff

        Hi Vaughn

I know the feeling a lot of Trolls out there just wanting to pick your pocket.

I've wasted a lot of time but things are starting to make sense now.

I can't post links up here but google matmathias empower and get in touch.

You are on the right lines, you do need a capture page.

        Mat

you will need a squeeze page and autoresponder to build a list which is where the real money is if you develop it properly.

Ok, so what niche do you want to target, and what is your background?

Do you understand any technical aspects of the internet, can you register a domain, upload files, and do anything with html?

Most of what you need can be found via youtube tutorials, all you need is to pay for an autoresponder service such as aweber. That's over and above the hosting costs.

It's also worth finding a WSO on listbuilding and get started this way rather than going for a product that was launched on the hype of people who were just after commissions.

Lastly the best way to learn listbuilding is to actually join a few lists and see who does it well, and who does it badly. Learn from the people you think are doing it well and good things should happen.

That advice about setting up affiliate pages could send you into a complete circle, if you want to build a list focus on this for 3 months and then decide if it's the right thing to be doing.

Hey mate thanks for the post,

In reply to your questions about registering a domain, uploading files and working with HTML.... I know nothing about, as a newbie are these the things I should already know and be familiar with????

So you think that building a list and squeeze page is the place to start for beginners?

As for a niche I don't know where to start, I guess somthing I enjoy and am also interested in. Ie. sport, movies, traveling, and I guess IM which unfourtunatly I know not much about....

Depending on your niche, you could put up an ugly squeeze page and still get alot of subscribers. You will need an autoresponder, and the HTML code that they give you to put it on your website. Aweber walks you through the process step-by-step.

Nothing more important than building your list. Get started on that ASAP. Find products to sell later.

I used Web Presence Builder (part of Plesk running on my servers) to make mine. Check it out in my sig

You can use basically any CMS, website builder, or even HTML to build a squeeze page. The key components seem to be an Aweber or similar lead capture form and J/S.

      I'm testing mine now.

    Vaughn, two options.

    1) Google "learn HTML" or "HTML tutorial". HTML is the foundation of websites - think of it like a really easy programming language for websites (it's not a programming language though).

    2) Pay a designer to create your sales page. You can also pay someone to write the content too.

If you like, please send me an email. I can create you a sales page + content and give you some guidance. For a custom design, it's around the $250 mark, but for a pre-designed one I've already made, it's around $50 to $100 for the design.

    My email is matt@attrayant.com

    Thanks, talk to you soon!

edit: I'm open to taking emails from anyone who is also a little lost, whether you use my services or not! Even if you just need a bit of guidance, or do indeed want a website (be it a sales page, or a full-blown 5-page website).

Hi Vaughn, once you have the basics nailed you will be able to knock out a squeeze page in minutes, using wordpress, and aweber or another auto responder. You need to decide on a niche first though, and then create a free report or video so you can entice peoples email addresses.
the best tool for creating squeezepages I find is optimizepress.
    Good luck

      Yep.

Do it and create a compelling offer to get people onto your site.

Then drive traffic via list swaps and solo ads. I recommend this site:

Wow, some good info here for the newbie If you have a Squeeze Page, where are you supposed to put the other information : like Pricing, the Facebook/Twitter buttons, Features, etc. Are there any examples out there that have all this as part of a "Squeeze Page"?

    TIA

    Hi Vaughn

Register yourname.com or a variation and then start a simple wordpress blog to record your progress.

For domains I would use namecheap, hosting via hostgator, and aweber for listbuilding. Overall this should cost you ~ $25 per month plus the $10 annual domain fee. Don't get hung up on the cost, it's far cheaper than starting an offline business!

I'm currently doing a listbuilding for bloggers series on my blog at the moment, it may help you see good examples of to build a list without directly needing a squeezepage.

    Wow all good information here.

Hey Vaughn, when you get the autoresponder and squeeze page (this will build your list you can market to), you will need to know how to market.

I would make a free blog at blogger.com (its really easy) and then go to your autoresponder, (Getresponse.com is one I like), on your autoresponder they show you how to make a web form to capture peoples name and email addresses (this is where you get your leads list start forming). You would place this web html code in your blogger blog. (Both the autoresponder and blogger shows you how to do this)

Then when you market the url of your blog page people will opt in. After they opt in you will create several emails (in your autoresponder) that will deliver good content intended for your niche list you have. (which is the list from the web form).

You get content for your niche (people who you target to be your best cusomers), from all over the web. You can put this on your blog along with some pictures and video, to make it more interesting to your followers.

This is pretty much the simplest way you can start to create a following. And you can market on facebook and twitter by putting an interesting fact that your niche would not know or that would be helpful then put your link to your blog. This is how you would market. There is another free site I would recommend. Its called ping.fm you can sign up for alot of social networks and send a message to them all at once. It saves you time and it also sends the message to your blog and facebook too.

Hope this helps you get started. Good luck.

Ps. What if instead of hunting people down until they begged you to stop... pre-qualified prospects actually sought you out and asked you what you do and how you do it? Click here.

Great advice thanks alot , but is there no way a person can sort of minimize the risk of people opting in just for the product and to ensure a higher percentage of actual buyers rather than "trolls" ?

Sure, you can separate the lists. Say you have a WSO or other product. After they pay you have them subscribe to your list before a download. That can be your "buyers" list.

Your opt-in list for free products can be just your traffic targeted list that you can slowly build.

For a newbie, I would be using a product that someone has giving away with resell rights. I have come across a lot of free squeeze page templates, even with great ebooks to give to your subscribers. But just like everyone said you are best to have an auto-response system. This is the only way to make it really work.

From there, once you have a list built, you can send your subscriber's related affiliated products that they might be interested in. Like in one of the above posts, it's best to learn how to affiliate market first before you consider building a mailing list.
