Created a site with rapidniches website software which is an interface software that works with wordpress.

I no longer wish to use rapidniche to create sites with...I wish to strictly use WP standalone to create all future sites with...

So I wish to create a new site using a new theme that uses siloing and seo plugins to accomplish what I need and then transfer those files or pages to the new site, what is the best way to accomplish this.

Need your help to list the necessary 1-10 step by step process in accomplishing this project.

what is the quickest way to transfer all of my pages from Restaurant Funding | Small business cash advance | Restaurant Capital Funding to the same domain name but set up strictly with wordpress.

    Hello onpointinfo,
From what I can tell Rapidniche is just software for a Windows PC that helps you to create blogs in Wordpress. So if all you want to do is stop using Rapidniche, then all you are left with is the actual content living on your web server. You'll want to make a backup of your files (probably as a big .zip file), then make a database backup from Wordpress, and save any special config files like .htaccess for Apache web servers or any PHP template files you might be using.

Then for your new server, all you have to do is install a default setting for Wordpress, and restore your database and upload your theme files. The plugins will each need to be uploaded and tested for WP 2.7. You said the Restaurant Funding site will have the same domain name. If the name is the same but you are physically moving to a new web server, edit the list of nameservers in your domain registration to point to the correct location. DNS sometimes takes a while to propagate, but the name should resolve to the correct IP address based on the nameservers you specify at the domain registrar.

Let me know if I have misunderstood anything about your original post. There will probably be a little bit of editing and adjusting you'll need to do on the new server, but those are the major steps.

      1. See if you're already using WordPress.

      - If you're already using WordPress, log in at your login.php page. That's all you need to do. Skip my other instructions.

      - If you're not, install it. (Most hosting services do this automatically in less than five minutes. See if yours does.)

      - If you're not sure, ask your hosting service if you're already using WordPress. (Trust me, they've been asked sillier questions.)

If you are not already using WordPress...

      2. Backup your existing website files.
In WordPress 2.7+, that's in Tools > Export.

(In other kinds of blogging software, there may be a similar one-click backup tool. You can get some ideas by looking in your new WordPress dashboard. See the list and instructions at Tools > Import.)
      3. Import the files to your new WordPress website. That's in Tools > Import.

      4. Visit your new WordPress site. Double-check your posts and pages to be sure that everything looks okay. (You may need to tweak some graphics, but the rest of the site should be fine.)

That should do it... assuming that I understood your question in the first place, that is!

I host with hostgator and will still use this same server. I need to do 2 things guys.

        1) I will now create my restaurant site with xsite pro instead then my brothers clown on wordpress how does this change things I will basically just I think move files over to the new xsitepro restaurant site on the same server but unsure how to do this then move my brothers site to a new wordpress site once I complete my restaurant site

        2) why should i or i shouldn't add a blog to my restaurant xsitepro in the subdirectory vs setting up a blog on a seperate new domain name that links to my restaurant site --- my concerns of course are the seo ramificatioins from doing it one way vs another

I use HostGator as well, and I like them.

I don't use XSitePro, so I'm not sure how to import content to it. But, if it's automated, there should be an "import" tab or link within your XSitePro control panel. (If no one replies to that here, ask the XSitePro support staff.)

To move your brother's website content to his new WordPress blog, follow my steps starting at point 2, above. Basically, in your current WP dashboard, save your content in Tools > Export and then upload the content to your brother's new WordPress site using Tools > Import.

If all of the files were in one blog before, you'll probably need to go into Posts > Edit and Pages > Edit and delete the files that your brother doesn't want at his site.

Regarding the SEO ramifications: That sounds like a "six of one, half a dozen of the other" issue. In other words, there's no clear answer... not that I can see, anyway.

          Here are my thoughts:

A separate domain may seem to give you a little more clout in terms of incoming links to your restaurant site.

However, the convenience of a blog at the same domain may lead more people to read your blog and link to the entire website as a well-rounded resource.

I'd choose the latter, myself. I've tried splitting off related sites and it weakened my PR rank at Google and confused my readers.
