How do i make my website do THIS

ok maybe its just me
but im having a hard time on this one.

Im trying to start a new website
i already have 2 but this ones is different

Basicaly, i want to start a website where local bands can go up there and put up all their merchandise and sell it, and i get a small cut of what they sale and they can also have their own profile to explain who they are and everything

anybody have any ideas
and if i havent explained this enough please let me know.

      Not trying to survive off of these websites

      I have another job
      its just something i do for fun
      so if it thrives or not doesnt matter to me

      Just want to know how to make it

        I'm sure there are more sophisticated approaches than what I'll suggest, but here goes...

        Have the bands sign up with an affiliate administering site such as E-Junkie.com. Then, bands could sign up as Authors (or another contributor level) at your WordPress site, and create the post about their work.

        Before the post goes live, you replace their product link with your affiliate link.

        The band makes money, E-Junkie delivers the product, and you collect your affiliate payments at the end of each month.

        As I said, there are probably simpler ways to do this. E-Junkie is just one affiliate/distribution site, and there are alternatives to WordPress. (For instance, I'm not sure if you can integrate an affiliate program with Zen Shopping Cart.)

        But, if you want to get this started on a shoestring (or with no budget at all), this is one way it could work. You can always refine the process later.

    very clever

    although
    dont know if i link the idea of random bands going into my wordpress and messing with things
    seeing how not many off them probably know what their doing

    was thinking about using a shopping cart script and membership script together

    or like a classified script with a membership script

    If you need backend web development help I'd go to elance and get it all worked out, integrating it with e-junkies system (lots of "e" in web dev.) could be done pretty easily, better yet, give the e-junkie info to the web developer and have them do it for you
