I am literally in the process of setting up a new Social Networking application at my website:

- Pre-Launch Private Free Access : WebDesignHQ Social Network

It's a combination of Facebook, Twitter, & the Social Bookmarking sites out there.

I would really appreciate anyone checking it out, as I am still configuring/tweaking as we speak.

The site is not live yet, but I would love for anyone to beta-test it out for me.

    Great so far.

    One suggestion- if this social network deals with people that are into designing, digital art etc, then you need to make it look like a site that caters for it. If this site only caters for IM related design people, then I am sad to say the market is too small.

    Look at one of the best sites online, that in my opinion has a damn good reputation and big names of the industry have their profiles on there.. including me

      As for your social networking, you have most of the elements that people expect to see. I would suggest adding more "social" graphics related to the design business. I know you are still working on it, but the visuals seem to attract people more on social networking sites. Facebook spent a lot of money to attract people to make up for the lack of focus it put on the visual aspect of things.

      I create a website called faceticket.com for a client and we noticed that more visitors registered because of changes to the graphics than from anything else.
