'Coming Soon' page

Hi guys,

Now, I am pretty much a complete novice, but I would like to make a 'coming soon' page to place on the domain until the website a couple of friends are making is ready. Now, I'm not looking for anything fancy at all, all I want is:

My logo in the center.
2 short sentences of text underneath.
Links to Facebook, Twitter, Google+

That's it. But, the problem is, being an absolute noob with html, I don't know how to make my logo appear in the center in every browser/resolution? Actually, just not at all. I can get it in the center top, but not right in the middle.

This is all I really need, as the rest I can do.

The alternative is, what do you use to make a website if you don't write it yourself?

    I'm not much of a web designer so I can't answer this, I'm sure others will. But instead I'll answer this question:

    Wordpress. And there are many 'coming soon' plugins you can install:

    It is not wise to make a 'coming soon' or 'under construction' page. To be honest I would wait out the couple of weeks and present a website that is complete.

    If you're passionate about having a coming soon page, use Dreamweaver. It has a built in WYSIWYG editor. Easy to use, and I believe it still has a free trial.

    You could check out Themeforest. The have both html and wordpress templates. I don't have enough posts yet to insert links into my posts, but if you google themeforest you should find it easily.

    Use "Free HTML" application, its may be a freeware, if not I recommend you to buy it.
