What is the best permalink structure for my new photoblogging site. I see similar sites set up the structure like postnumber/postname or that with .html at the end. Pretty much what is the best structure for SEO.

    I prefer: /%post_id%-%postname%/

I assume you are using WordPress. You don't need a plugin for this. Just go to permalinks and make the change. Having the ID in URL helps improve efficiency (particularly for large blogs) by reducing the queries in showing posts.

    1. html at the end is nonsense...
    2. Plugin-mania? - why not getting familiar a bit with WP, since you are using it?

If by "accident you happen to click on ...wp-admin/options-permalink.php (Settings > Permalink) in your OWN blog - you could read/see all the built-in options! Among them one called "numeric"!

On the same page there is also a link going to the online manual, the Codex of WordPress discussing all the details about permalinks: Using Permalinks « WordPress Codex

So, don't be lazy: read the documentation and ask questions only if there is no answer to your question. <-- this is not personally about "you", this is a general advice for everybody!
