I'd like to learn how to convert HTML and CSS websites to WordPress. Does anyone know of any posts, websites, youtube videos or anything that could help me learn how to do this?

Thanks for any help,
James

This is how I started converting html to wordpress/joomla sites. I just used the default template then started modifying the css and adding stuff into the code untill I got what I wanted.

After doing that a bunch of times you become really familiar with the how things work and you can build your wordpress/joomla site from scratch!

    Good luck

Dennis Becker of e1kad.com sells a course on this for $9.95. I am new here and the system will not let me post the link but if you PM me I will send it to you (or you can Google it - Convert a Static Site to a WordPress Site)

If you decide to buy it and would be willing to use my affiliate link to help me out I will send it to you.

He also has a discount right now on WP Twin bundled with this HTML to WordPress course - $67 for both. WP Twin is GREAT - I use it and it really does make cloning and backing up WordPress sites easy.

I'd recommend spending the money on Thesis and customizing it that way. It's a lot easier and more beneficial for fine-tuning in the future. It may cost a bit, but it's well worth the price. Anything is possible with Thesis (just short of the dark side of the moon).

I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing it for clients that already have an existing website that they want to be able to update on their own. So they are going to want everything to look the exact same, just with the WordPress platform integrated into the site.
