I would have to say WordPress, especially with a host that supports CPanel and Fantastco.

I agree with both posters from above. Wordpress is by far the easiest CMS to learn and tweak to your likes.

I would have to go with Xsite Pro. I haven't really messed with wordpress to much yet but it apparently is very popular with all the things you can do with it. But Xsite Pro is extremely easy to use, especially for someone who knows nothing about html code.

I USED to use Front Page Express. BUT I had a real hard time with it and personally I thought the sites wer ugly. So I went looking and found..... ta-da! Nvu. This is an open source webpage builder that you can get and let me say, it is GREAT! I hartly recomend it 100 % |

I think a lot depends on what type of site you want to build.
If you are not a web designer at all, you can use Wordpress. Wordpress has a ton of free templates you can find on the net to change the look and layout of your site. Many people think that it can only be used for BLOG's, but that is not true. You can setup your site to have only "static" pages if you want to. If you want a sales page and Opt-In lists, you may want to use something else. NVU is a decent program for doing this. With anything you choose, you will have a bit of a learning curve. Like most things in life, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. |

Wordpress is the most flexible CMS I think. Easy to use and customize, because a simple HTML knowledge is enough.

If you are looking for a CMS, then Wordpress might be your best choice but if you are looking to build static html webpages try Dreamweaver.

You've already got some pretty good advice (ie) Word Press is easy and SEO friendly for Blog sites.
You might also take a close look at XSite Pro v2. It's not too expensive, much easier than Dream weaver or Front page and it has excellent support and Forum help to get you started. I particularly like its Wizard model. This one feature saved me tons of time on my 1st site. If you do get yourself a WP Blog, you can quickly link it to your XSP site (and) build landing pages in a snap using either their ready made templates or build from scratch using their Wizard tool. I was lucky to buy my copy for another seasoned Warrior and also bought his cheat sheet to get me out fast. |

Wordpress. I got a Revolution theme and was able to get a good bit of it done in 2-3 weeks without HTML knowledge. That's a good start anyway and can at least get you up and running and is real easy to put video on the site(at least youtube embedded video). Wordpress has tons of plug-ins available for free and they make life real easy.

Well, OK, I take it back.... The easiest tool to use is the one you hire....
You can pay someone to desire you a kicking site for a very decent price. Right now many designers are looking for work... If you goal is simply easy of use, then hire someone. I forget the name, but I know I have seen on this forum someone that fill do your entire site for around $200.... And the quality is good. Fork over the cash, site back and in a couple days you have a nice site.... How easy is that! |

If you cant program the simplest thing is Wordpress like the others have said.
For bigger sites Drupal is a good alternative. |

I would go with dreamweaver. I mean if you really want to gain some knoledge instead of plug and play you can work from the design aspect and then also the code so you can learn what exactly you are doing.

I can say the easiest is Joomla. Whatever version you use. The 1.0.X, 1.5 or the new 2.0. Why I said it's easier? you can download a joomla template and upload to your admin panel and use it in just couple of clicks. User modules and components in less than a min. You can create a very professional website in no time using joomla.

I think the easiest system is Wordpress if you are a newbie. Its not for just setting up blogs now. Look around and you will find many different types of wordpress themes that can be used to build your self a full on company/personal website.
Its not as flexible as Frontpage or dreamweaver, but its definately the easiest cms system around. |

Wordpress as long as you can work within the restrictions of the CMS. It's the fastest way to get a site live and there are so many themes and plugins available that you can probably accomplish most tasks with it.

I know of a resource that consistently gets overlooked:
If you're trying to design a website from scratch, and cost is a factor, I would recommend tools found at "freeserifsoftware.com." There, you will find freeware for web publishng, desktop publishing, photo editing, and vector graphic drawing (there may be more). Granted, it's not exactly dreamweaver but it allows for a high degree of artistic license, and blows your average WYSIWYG right out of the water. Between that software, Wordpress, and an autoresponder- you'd pretty much be set. I hope that helps. Jeromy |

I like to use wordpress. It's so easy to use. You can make it a blog or just create pages so its more of a website. I also used to use sitebuilder which was very easy to use as well.

for building your OWN unique website, get Dreamweaver. It's the standard tool for professional web designers. Yes, you will need to learn HTML and CSS. No, it is not as hard as you might think. Spend a solid month learning the ins and outs of the software and you will never want to go back to those "easy" website builders. Trust me.

I use WordPress for blogs, and you can use it for building membership sites, and is great for updating new fresh content because the search engines love blogs, you will get indexed quicker than a website.
But for Website in general I use Dreamweaver to build sites around, it's not the easiest tool to use, so a great FREE tool to use a service called weebly.com, they are point and click building websites and blogs. Hope that help ![]() Danny |

When I first started building websites, well i though I need to learn scripts so I keep my self stucked in w3schools.com, well html is not that hard for me now but if you really want to build a website:
If you want to learn scripts online, visit w3schools .com. its the best place for html, php, etc begginers. I think. |

I've used
Joomla- hated it Dreamweaver- great way to learn CSs and HTML FrontPage- lame Sitebuilder- easy, but could be better Site Solution- HORRIBLE- worst on the planet Pagemaker- Ok, comparable to dreamweaver And I have to say that Wordpress is the absolute best ever. Period. You can create static pages with Wordpress, and if you can write HTML then why would you need a program like Dreamweaver, it's like using a machine gun to kill a fly. OVERKILL. Do you love the Atahualpa theme? great way to mesh wysiwyg with WP |

Xsite pro is so easy for non HTML or PHP people
makes great sites very quickly and its easy to operate I used to use Front page and I dont have amonth to spare to learn dreamweaver which i have had for ages and never got past first base. The problem is that there is so much work to do I find it hard to take time out to learn new software especially as the learning curve is already very steep any way Xsite pro is fantastic |

Having trained my lazy ass to use XSitePro and then putting
a little time in with WordPress I will tell you XSP2 is easier. While WP has one-click install you really have to learn some webmastering stuff to install themes and modules and if you've never done that stuff it can get confusing. With XSP you pretty much just have to figure out how it goes with your hosting and you are good to go. From there on out it is hard to mess up. I also use Drupal but it has a serious learning curve and is a "pro app" all the way. |
