Duplicat Pages and 301 Redirects

I run a local business in Nashville, TN. My website is well established and optimized for the city of Nashville. I have all the Google Places categories showing on page 1 of the search results, etc.

However, I built some clones of my index (sales) page and changed "Nashville" to other surrounding cities within a 30 mile radius.

To my delight, these pages began showing up on page 1, often #1, in the search results within a week. I now have 50 of these pages.

However, Matt Cutts said that Google was targeting these types of pages with the new Penguin update. I can't afford for my site to be de-indexed.

My thinking now is to 301 redirect these pages to my index page.

Should I keep the meta index information? If not, how will Google know that the page is relevant to another city? Each city is in the url, but is that enough?

By the way, I built the site in WordPress and just installed the Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin.

I sure appreciate any help you can offer...
