I am wondering if it is for newbie (with no coding/ programming knowledge)

      I'm a member of Elegant themes, are they lovely designs right out of the box, and the built in control panel to change the options is easy to use. Considering how many themes you get for the price, it's a steal.

    I found their tutorials are a bit all over the place and often out dated.

    Hello sam ,

    Congrats for joining Elegant Membership . Yes, you can make any changes in themes if you are having knowledge of PHP and CSS . Whenever you are making any changes via code always save that code in original in a notepad file and then make editing there . By chance, if you make any error you whole blog will stop functioning and you have to work on it again . If you will be having your original code with you , you can easily place it back at the original position and your blog will be up again.

      Thanks for your advice. But I have no programming knowledge. Going to get some books this weekend.

        Why to purchase book for learning wordpress , just search for tutorials on youtube and google and you can learn a lot from there . Even i have learned a lot form youtube and google.

        Secondly , untill and unless you will not mistake you will not learn anything . Install wordpress on your local machine and then try to make a blog of yourself . Try to implement all your ideas over there .

    You needn't have programming knowledge if you just use it as it's design. But if you want to adjust it to your own needs, you must modify the code yourself.

    If you are not looking for heavy customization, its ok with no programming knowledge. Basically you just upload the theme and activate it. Plug and play. That's how easy.

    Yes first I bought DIY themes and then I figured I still have to change the code a lot. So I bought eleganthemes and it is good for beginners. You can use it as it is. Also you can change it a lot if you want to in the future after learning CSS and php. Currently I am learning CSS.
