Problem with config file

I've had this problem before and usually gave up. Now I need to learn how to fix it. I'm trying to download PHPlist and I had to reconfigure the config file which I had put into notepad. My problem is what do I do with it now? I assume I need to move the reconfigured one back to the original config file. If so how do I do this.
If not then what do I do next?

I presume the original config file is on your web host server. You will need to upload the reconfigured file using your FTP program and replace the old one.

What I usually do is rename the original file to config.old and then upload the new one with the original file name just to keep a backup.

    cheers,

    Simon,
Thanks for the answer. I was afraid it was going to be about using a FTP program. For some reason I can never make a FTP program work right. Its a funny thing. I can upload the files fine when I make a blog but can't seem to make anything else work. If you have any tips that might help I'd like to hear them.
    I will try though.

The problem might be with your FTP program. If you use FireFox to browse the net then the FireFTP addon is great... thats what I use. You can upload files within your browser and the interface is similar to windows explorer.

I can't post links at the moment but if you search Google for "FireFTP addon" you should find it. Also, if you have a look down the download page there is a link to some good support documentation.

    Hope this helps,

    Simon.
