If it's a PSD files, then it's a photoshop file. You'd need photoshop to open it. You'd also need a developer that will turn a photoshop file into a wordpress theme.

no you are downloading the Source Template in PSD format so you have to open it with Photoshop in order to edit it then export it as HTML web page...

Far as I know you cant "export" a psd as html page
if so please explain where to find simple tutorial on that

if you want to convert to css and WP its a HUGE Ordeal might as well just start from scratch and make your own WP site

This finding a simple example of
html resumes is a MAJOR PAIN IN THE BUTT

Never found so many scam sites, or sites that wont show the VIEW SAMPLE of a site with the simple resume just on the site
they all want to show a PHOTO of the resume

or they all want you to download psd files, which if you dont have photoshop installed and I dont
good luck getting that to work

spent the better part of a week finding decent free resumes in html format to use
    Huge pain in the butt

It's not total BS. PSD files are the actual original files before the website was turned into HTML.

Of course if you are not a web developer and are simply looking for Wordpress Themes, then there is no point in getting those PSD files.
The export feature of Photoshop to HTML is very basic, is not really what you are looking for, as it requires some HTML and CSS knowledge afterwards.

The majority of websites start with a graphic designer creating the entire graphical layout(mockup) of the site. This is usually done in either Adobe Photoshop (a psd file) or Adobe Fireworks(a layered PNG file). Once the designer has created the look and feel of the site, a web developer will create slices (graphics) from the PSD and in turn create html and css to layout the graphical and textual elements of the PSD file. Once this has been done the site is complete, unless you want it to also be a wordpress theme. At which point the web developer takes the html/css files and makes some modifications to actually create the wordpress template file.

You seemed to have purchased a graphical resume PSD layout. This could indeed be considered a template in the sense that a graphic desinger has already done the heavy lifting for you. You would simply need Photoshop to open the PSD to begin swapping out the text and replacing it with your own.

As I stated before, you would also need to get a developer to take your graphics and create the wordpress template. So its not BS that they called it a template. In this sense it is a template. Unfortunately you were expecting it to be a wordpress template which is a completely different animal.

      No I never purchased anything

Now that I am just searching "free CSS resume templates"
I seem to be getting better at finding free ones

I was proud of myself today
completely reverse engineered a resume I saw and liked
easy to do if its just html
but if there are css elements and style.css referred to , for formatting
its a bit tricky the first time you do it but I figured it out

Found a really cool one, hey you guys take a look at this

      is this CSS?
This is free by the way
      ProFolio of John Doe

Love the way that thing works
The coding is brutal though, very very very long and involved

How hard do you think it would be to reverse engineer that thing?

I tried changing the text of the main page or links
had ZERO success in trying that

is that using some type of style.css?
Damned if I could figure out how they make that site
