How Can I get My First Job On Elance?

I run a web design company and have been doing web design since 1999. Now I would like to post on Elance but I only have my portfolio to show. I don't have any feedback at all and I look like a a complete newbie.

Whats the best way to start getting jobs on that site ? Is there a tweak to my proposals that is needed?

    One way is to ask a client you got from another source to open an account and hire you through elance. Explain why and offer them a discount.

    Or you could also create another account and buy a website from yourself, you gotta do what you gotta do these days.

    Create a very efficient cover letter. You don't have to specify that you're a new user on Elance. When you apply for a job there, it will say "New Provider" above your name for the first few weeks.
