Hi all,

Is there a "best way" to find & hire a webmaster? By that I mean is there a logical, organized way to find & screen potential applicants?

I need to hire somebody to create two landing pages for me. I can shop around in e-lance (or one of the other outsourcing sites). But it seems like I'm disorganized with my approach...and it ends up becoming chaotic.

Looking for advice on how to go about this.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi Smith,
Outsourcing type sites are the best one in my opinion. You've already mentioned e-lance here. Create a project in those type of sites & lots of freelancers will place their bid. I agree, most of them don't have the ability to accomplish your project. But, few of them are really highly capable to accomplish your project. One piece of advice to pick the capable one (from my personal experience) - don't just go with the lowest bidder. Go with any of the top 3 reputed bidder. Good luck! Be well.

Freelance sites are hit or miss. One method I've found is once I've created a project and I start to get bids, I sift through the bidders profile and read through past comments left by others that have used the service before. Take the time to read them all, the bad reviews could be buried a few pages in so take the time. Also study the rehire rate if it's available. Lastly, skype. Try to find freelancers with skype so you can chat with them in real time to ask vital questions, this way you can gauge their reply with response time.

    Best of Luck.

You could also look in the "Warriors For Hire" section of the WF, there are always some good promotions in there for exactly what you're looking for and you can usually figure out who the good ones are pretty quickly on there.
