I am promoting my site on another website and they would like a dedicated url so they can track how much traffic it generates. My questions is would i be okay if i just duplicated my home page and called it something different or is google going to punish me for duplicated content? Is there a better way? I am kind of new to webdesign. Thanks

    Hi,

Actually, that sounds more like they want a unique URL to track, not a different site. http://linktrack.info/ref/7f405 is a good service to do this, or you could try to create a string to append to the end of your homepage URL which would be unique to that advertiser.

The easiest way would be just to locate the referrer inside your webhost stats, screenshot that stat once a month and send it to the site owner displaying your ad

alternatively go with the above approach and modify the domain something like www.mydomain.com?advertid=1234567 and use a script to count each time that advertid is used to access that page or use a service that offers this
