wordpress is simple thing if you don't know any html programming
but if you fits html best, then it's up to you

save yourself a lot of time, money and head aches and hire someone. If you really want to make money online you need to free yourself of dinking around with stuff and figuring stuff out

i think wordpress is a choice for you as you don't know HTML. It will be easy for you to work with wordpress while adding products and other thnigs.

Of course... use Wordpress/ OpenCart/ Magento for your online store.

By using CMSs above, you will get beautiful, professional looking websites with very low cost. You also can easily tweak and add features by yourself. The cost by using CMS is much, much cheaper than hire programmer to create the online store from HTML.

Another easier option is using Shopify. But using Shopify will cost you more than using Wordpress.

Word press 100% of the way, there are many themes and plug in's that can help.

Also get someone else to do this for you, you need to be working on your business not in your business. It shouldn't cost you an arm or a leg either to get this done efficiently and quickly.

Gotta echo the other statements as someone who has had both regular html site and multiple Wordpress sites. Wordpress is just so much easier to live with and online stores are no problem for it. Just like others, I say go for it.

For online store go for WordPress and one of 1000's free or paid e-commerce themes. Period.

definitely wordpress. you don't want to depend on webmaster - not knowing html will make you unable to edit the site yourself. which is a great inconvenience in my opinion.

I have got to say I would go for WordPress too! I have sites running that are not in WordPress and I am slowly thinking of converting them over. I run the WooCommernce Theme on one of my sites and its very simple.

Well, I'd say neither WordPress nor HTML; the best would be you tried Magento
WordPress as an eCommerce platform is not as successful as Magento, OpenCart or osCommerce.

WordPress is OK if you happen to focus more on content than shopping cart. My suggestion to you would be to try Magento first and then think of WordPress.

I'm glad to see someone finally suggested Magento. It is the CMS for eCommerce sites. If you are going to sell hundreds, or thousands of products, Magento is the way to go. Harborfreight.com uses Magento. Smaller sites like whistleanddrum.com use it, too.

If you play to sell maybe a dozen products, I would stick with Wordpress, or a hosted cart solution.

The thought of doing any sort of commerce system in HTML without a CMS of some sort is utterly ridiculous. You need a CMS for product management.

Easiest cart to use is wordpress with ecommerce plugins.

3D cart is another easy one. But the fees are okay also. magento seems very complex. Actual all of the carts have huge learning curve. Selling on ebay so far is the easiest or amazon.

Knowing HTML isn't necessarily going to help you at all with an ecommerce site because you'll probably need to use something else like javascript, jquery or PHP / MySQL to do the heavy lifting.

With WordPress you just need to find a good theme and ecommerce plugin and the job's done. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

If you're very good at HTML, I might as well suggest it. By that you can do and design anything you like. But if not, you can work on the WordPress. You can also save time with it, You can see lots of themes available.

I think I will recommend Wordpress as it's a CMS and it's more user friendly to use actually and you can enhance your site with themes and also help from plugins.

I suggest you can go with WordPress. You can find lots of plugins, lots of coders, lots of faqs..and many more.

• It is important what level of search engine optimisation your website can achieve

• You want to automate AdSense integration for faster testing and customisation

wordpress for sure. more and more companies are switching to it. ans so many available plugins with great features are being added and updated by developers for wordpress.

For a small shop I'd suggest WP + ecommerce plugin, for a bigger shop a dedicated Ecommerce software like Prestashop, Magento

Wordpress kicks ass, but if you're new then don't be surprised if you run into problems or mess your theme up. It still helps to have html/css knowledge as well as graphics design experience if you want to modify your images.

Being that you said youu don't know much about HTML your best bet is to stick with what you know if you're doing it yourself. Wordpress has many great free and paid themes that you can look through! Do a simple Google search but I suggest Woo Themes they have some great ecommerce themes. Good Luck!

There's loads of different Wordpress themes which supports this. Creating a whole new e-store with very little knowledge will not end good, I can tell.

But still, as the guy above me said, HTML and CSS will help a lot if you'd learn it. I am very happy I have made many sites from scratch, even though some failed because the code was like crap but today I can basically make a site however I want it to look like - which is a great benefit!

Hi there, just to get my two cents in. I absolutely love wordpress. In my opinion it is the best thing for any kind of website. There are many plugins that make setting up a store easy and profitable. It's been my experience that WordPress is very easy and fun to use.

I think wordpress is the easiest solution as well. Unless your a real wiz with computer code, I suggest going with wordpress. its super easy to customize and there is a lot of support for the word press community out there.

All I can say is WORDPRESS - it is just easy and amazing and so if the site is just one page - I do Wordpress

I'm a big fan myself of Wordpress, and use it for just about everything. But if this is a solid, full production eCommerce store, you may consider Shopify perhaps? Very solid product.

Depends on the store size and features you want to incorporate, you might want to check out real e-commerce CMS like Magento. But in my experience if you have relatively small store then WordPress is the way to go.

If you're going to do a job, do it properly. Building an eCommerce site on Wordpress is like taking your Ferrari to a local garage who does everything, when instead you should be taking it to specialist Ferrari garage.

Cough up and do the job properly and will save you head ache in the future! Saying that I have an Woocommerce client who built a site with another provider so I'm slowly converting them to Opencart at some point.

There is no right or wrong answer here, depends on what you need and what you want to spend more.

So, in terms of what you want to spend more, it's either time or money. I would personally always go with money, as it is something you can make it up, you can't make up the lost time. However, there are times where you just don't have the dollars for it, so you just have no choice but to do it yourself and go with some free solution like Wordpress site + some free e-commerce plugin or some other more pro e-commerce platforms such as Zencart, or whatever there is right now. HTML is not hard to pickup and you don't really need to know all of it in order to make a basic site as none of the platforms will initially require you to code anything.

In terms of what you need, well you have to think about this good and make a list of features you want your e-commerce site to have. Wordpress free plugins are very limited in what they can do. The premium ones are better, but they are still no close to the full e-commerce platforms that have nothing to do with the Wordpress. The best I've seen so far for WP (I developed both Wordpress and non Wordpress e-commerce sites) is WooCommerce. Now, it is free, but in order to have some advanced features you will just need to put in some dollar to buy some premium plugins, if you need it of course. But ultimately, there are things that even WooCommerce with it's premium plugins can't do that full blown e-commerce platforms can.
