Creating powerful images in photoshop

Hello Warriors,

I have been playing around with Adobe Photoshop for a while now but am still wondering how to create powerful animated images with customized text graphics. I am very new to this product as web/graphic design are both passions I wish to pursue. After seeing all of the warriors here who specialize in this craft of creating powerful eye capturing images, I am starting this thread to gain some pointers with Photoshop when creating images.

I guess what I am looking for is this to be an advanced discussion of how people use PS to create their images. The goal to this thread is for everyone from beginner to advanced users to gain even more knowledge than is provided at Adobe.tv. I find that resource to be very limited to some respects and wish to master this software with the help of other warriors. There is nothing better than learning from people who have mastered this awesome product.

    If you have Adobe Photoshop version 9 (CS2) or below, then you should also have Adobe Image Ready too. Open the PSD in ImageReady to create a frame-by-frame animated graphic. In ImageReady, go to "Window" and make sure that "Animation" is checked to show the animation tool.

    However, if you have the latest Photoshop (CS3+), then you must use Fireworks to create an animated graphic.
