How Do l Discover if a certain Domini is for sale?

Hi just wondering can any one tell me whats the best way or website to deal with to find out if l can place an offer for a Domini that is already taken but seems not been used at all on the internet for at least over one year? Godaddy have an option but charge about $60 for the service then a commission if owner is willing to sell wondering if any other cheaper kinder service to investigate this matter?

    you can do a whois check on the domain and send an email to the administrative contact asking if the domain is for sell or sending an offer.

    DIY guide for domain purchase:

    1. Visit the domain
    2. If the domain is not developed, check WHOIS data for ownership details
    3. Parked domains will often have a BUY link
    4. Contact the owner directly
    5. Negotiate a price and make payment securely
    6. Get the domain transferred to your account

    As far as possible deal with the domain owner directly. It is likely to cost you less as there won't be any commissions to pay. An upfront fee is a certain NO because you might get many domains for $100 or so.
