Question About Hosting/Email/Name Servers etc

OK. So I had a big problem the last couple days.

I have a reseller account and needed to transfer hosting of a clients domain and hosting to my reseller account.

This required me to obviously change name servers/setup new emails on my hosting etc.

Several issues arose such as emails not working, transfer codes and name servers being messed up etc.

Does anyone here know a great resource to learn about transferring hosting/emails etc?? I need a greater understanding of this stuff for sure.

The basics are the same regardless of host/registrar.

You should learn the 'quirks' of your own reseller hosting setup. And before moving a client, you need to prepare for any 'quirks' of their hosting/registrar.

Transferring an 'included with the hosting service domain' typically has a different process than transferring a domain hosted by a separate registrar.

Your reseller account host likely has tons of documentation/videos/faq's. All the popular hosts do - here are a few places to start.

I have moved thousands of sites/email accounts without issue in my line of work. Preparation is the critical ingredient.
