Wordpress plugins for Pay Per View (PPV) videos?

Hi all,

My wife and I currently have a family business website where we sell pay-per-view training videos for £5 each. We have about 20 available, and currently host and stream these through a UK provider, who's backend also deals with the payments and autoresponders, etc. However, their system is slow and our users are regularly experiencing buffering issues, even though the videos are compressed.

I am looking to develop a separate simple Wordpress site for these videos, with OptimizePress used for the squeeze page (so we can collect first names and email addresses). I will also be using Amazon S3 and Cloudfront for faster secure streaming.

Does anyone know of any plugins/apps for Wordpress that will replicate what our current video hosts do? It needs a simple pay-per-view feature that enables users to click and watch one or more videos an unlimited number of times for a set duration (e.g. 3 months), and also handle payments via Paypal (or similar) and autoresponders with the video access codes. A nice integrated media player would also be good.

Any ideas?

You could perhaps use a membership type plugin, like wishlist which can hook up with a paypal subscription. I've seen this working with OptimizePress quite nicely.
You would just need to make sure you lock out access to the vids served by S3 if there is no current subscription.

Thanks for your reply John - that looks like a great plugin. I am a bit put-off by the membership idea though, if I'm honest - does it over-complicate things?

I am looking for a pretty simple 'Play now' button which then takes them to Paypal and then back to watch the video.

I've not used the function on WishList member myself, but there is an option to set up a pay per post system which can be integrated with paypal, clickbank, etc... so if you put each video on its own post and then lock it with the pay per post function, that should work. You would also be able to collect the email addresses after someone has paid. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that , but I only really know Wishlist Member from the membership/subscription side.

WP eStore has this built-in. Use it together with WP eMember for a great combo.
