Simple but great shopping cart for my own site

I want to set up a new site with a simple shopping cart to sell physical products. Want the site to look great and would like to do a blog as part of the site.
I've looked at several and am trying the trial version:

3d cart
pro stores
shop site
shopify
magento go
Woo Commerce ( like this but there are no tutorials on headers, etc and can't seem to get it right)

like most of these but all of these seem difficult to me on the design end. Just not turning out right. I realize it is probably just me. These are all complete sites and cart. What I'd really like to do is build my own WP site, using my own host and add a simple cart to it. Does Paypal allow this? or any other recommendations?

I really can't afford to hire someone to do this as I've just put out a great deal on the product and labels, etc.

    If you don't have a lot of products, then you could use an ecommerce plugin for Wordpress. Keep in mind, the more products you have - it can begin to slow down your site.

    That said, look at eShop, wp ecommerce, WooCommerce, Shopp and Cart66.
