Wordpress Need Help witg .htaccess

HI Warriors,

If someone can help me please.
On my wordpress site when I want create custom permalink all my pages goind to Erros
And back office it saying I need update htaccess . I follow some YouTube advices which is telling to create file 1.htaccess upload to root directory and them remove 1. I created file on my desktop but when I was trying to upload to roof directory I get error massage '' Critical rite transfer error"
Please any help

    "root directory" is (usually) public_html - the directory where your WP installation is. Did you upload the file there?

    How were you uploading it? Using FTP?

    If you set Permalinks to pretty permalinks (post name) it will create a .htaccess file for you. You do this under Settings -> Permalinks

    If you need to modify .htaccess you can do so via ftp, but another easy way is install WordPress › WordPress SEO by Yoast « WordPress Plugins which is an excellent SEO plugin anyway. One of the options under the SEO plugin is 'edit files', which allows you to edit your .htaccess and robots.txt file right inside your WordPress dashboard.

    Word press has a lot of good SEO plugins. if you do not know how to upload files with ftp you may simply install YOAST plugnin. this plugin can fulfill all your SEO needs.
