Newbie help needed with website

Hello warriors im stuck, I got my first domain from go daddy while in the i guess control panel there was what i thought was a bonus a free 1 page website so i clicked it and thought i would build it up later then i went to wordpress an made a free blog,made a couple post then i went to host gator and got hosting went to the fantastico part in the c panel to upload word press on the domain i bought but i don't see any changes on my website its still the same go daddy 1 page website what did i do wrong.I want to use the free wordpress blog with my host is it possible,because i was told that its more features using hosting from host gator with word press i don't want the one page free website from go daddy can i delete it???Basically i want to keep using my free blog that i set up just want to host it on my host gator account

    Godaddy might already point your NameServer to them. You are no need to upload any Wordpress files through Fantastico because it will automatically done for you. You just provide some info and go step by step. For changing DNS to Hostgator, it seems to be something like these:
    • ns1.hostgator.com
    • ns2.hostgator.com
    For how to change DNS, you should ask support at Godaddy. For DNS name, you should ask Hostgator for your issue. Contact them and tell your issue; they will provide you the solution.

    It won't be free if your hosting it

    But I believe Run is on the right lines here. If you are still unsure about changing the name severs Google is your friend or use Youtube. The process is rather simple once you see it.

    follow the steps:

    1). after registering at hostgator u ll get the name servers in welcome mail from the Hostgator.

    2). log-in to the godaddy acc. and go for the domain setting and type in the nameservers over there.

    3) Now upload the worpress in your domain using fantastico icon in the c-panel

    4.) Then your after one hr. your site will be active.

    5). Go to youdomainname.com/wp-admin

    6). put your admin info. and entered into your admin area.

    Shaolinsteve is right, if you have a hostgator account, the wordpress site is not free.

    Go to Godaddy.
    Sign in.

    Scroll to the bottom and click on My Account (under Account Manager).
    Click on Domains.
    Click on the green Launch button next to the domain name.

    Scroll down a little until you see Name Servers.
    Click on Set nameservers.

    Select "I have specific nameservers for my account."
    Nameserver 1: NS____.hostgator.com
    Nameserver 2: NS____hostgator.com

    Fill in the blanks with your nameserver. It's in the welcome email Hostgator sent you.

    Hostgator has good support. You can open a chat and they'll walk you through anything you need help with.
