Good afternoon.

Is there a simple way to make an image's background transparent?

For example, is there a free software available that does this easily? Or is there a website that allows you to upload an image and make it's background transparent?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

What color is the background. Is it solid like all white or black ?

It's more of a gray color. My previous post will show you an example of what the background looks like.

I would do a google search for "simple way to make an image's background transparent" and check out the options and see which one would work for you.

If you want to get into image manipulation look for GIMP...
it's a free desktop software and should exist for all platforms.
There are gazillions of tutorials on the web that show you how to remove
    backgrounds and/or make them transparent.

If you just want a quick and dirty way you could try this online tool:

Thanks for the suggestion. I called myself following his instructions on this page, but after I completed this step, it made my image look like this on the Lunapic site.

Is that what it's what it's supposed to look like?

My goal, is to get the white parts that surround the book cover image to blend-in with the gray part of the website, which is the background color of the right sidebar on the site I'm working on.

Hi MrNiceGuy, I'm not familiar with the lunapic editor, but if you are OK with using a different editor (Pixlr - its also free and online), here's a step by step tutorial on how to make an image's background transparent to allow the element's parent container to show through the transparent areas of the image.
