Organizing posts in your category?

Is there a way to make it easier to find posts in a category? Atm I have a menu that shows each category on the home page, so once they click on that it shows the latest post, and then you can flip through each post. But how can I make it easier for people to find "10 ways to beat weight loss" versus just having to click "older post"

Hi TG, one way to do it is to rework your archive.php (the category landing page) so that rather than showing the full text of the latest post, it shows a category landing page which displays snippets of each post in the category along with a thumbnail image and title. Here's an example.

When you view that page, the posts under "Top Selling Products in this category" are the posts assigned to the category. The text above that is the category "Description" content. In this way, the category page becomes more of a landing page and its easier for the user to browse your list of posts in the category to find what might interest them.

Depending on which theme you are using, you may be able to do this via your theme's options panel. If you cannot do it via theme options (ie, the capability to rework the category page is not offered as a point and click option), you may need to enlist the help of a developer to rewrite your archive.php page, or you may be able to find a plugin that will do it.

You can use tags and/or related posts plugins and widgets. That way the reader will be given the option to choose similar articles to what they are already reading. You will, of course, have to "tag" each post with the proper keywords for that to work, but you should be doing that anyway.

Maybe the Collapsing Categories Plugin can help you but I think it can be used just as a widget so if you want to use this in the middle of your homepage probably you'll need to create a new sidebar for that.
Also into your posts template you can add related posts at the bottom with this Plugin.I think everything about how it works is described on the plugin page.
