Hey Everyone!

I need some help when it comes to the database side of things.
So I am in the middle of planning to set up a "CallofDuty" community site to target the video games niche.

I am using WordPress for the design and using a pre-made template. I want to target both the UK and the US and make some money by promoting games and gaming related products through an affiliate scheme.

I have signed up for two different affiliate programs, one offers products in the UK, the other for the US. I want to have a UK side of the website and a US, the content will be exactly the same apart from the affiliate products I will be promoting.

My plan is to have the "index page" as a page where you can choose your country. If you select the US you would then be taking to "websiteurl/US". If you select the UK you could be taken to "websiteurl/UK". It would be the same theme, same content only difference would be the affiliate offer like I said.

I want to know is it possible to use the same database for both these WordPress installations. I hope all this makes sense!

Thanks in advance, Joe

VERY SORRY GUYS, MY BROWSER CRASHED AND I DIDN'T THINK I HAD POSTED! I DID NOT MEAN TO POST TWICE!

Your going to have duplicate content issues if you have the exact same content for both sites, which is going to dilute your chances of ranking.

If you want to show particular banner ads depending on location, look at serving the ads using javascript based on geolocation.

Then you can have the same content for both UK and US users, but they will see different ads.
