A wordpress question, please help..

Hi guys,

I need your help... I am starting building some sites... And I just bought a few domains and set them to my hostgator acount... The thing is HOW DO I INSTALL wordpress for the multiple domains...

Do you guys use wordpress multisite, installed on your primary domain... , and with domain mapping plugin? For secondary domains...?

Or do I install wordpress on each secondary domain file of hostgator?

Please help!

    I have 3 wp websites under my host gator account. Each has its own wp installation and MySQL database

    If you have individual domain names it makes sense to use them (stronger branding/search engine presence). I would install wordpress individually for each domain.

    Carlos,

    I think you need to install WP individually per domain. It appears that you have them in your HostGator's account. Try to chat with HostGator's techs to get a solid answer. They have been always helpful. I'm speaking from experience.

      Hi Carlos,

      In hostgator, you can install wordpress fast using QUICKINSTALL service/icon in the cpanel.

      And yes it is recommended to have separate wp install for each of your domain in the cpanel.
      Also you know its easy to manage all your domains if you have them in one hostgator account added as ADDON domains....

      So you will have:
      1. One HG hosting account (minimum baby package for addons)
      2. All domains added as ADDONS
      3. Wordpress installed on each domain using QUICKINSTALL in the Cpanel.
      4. Now you have Wordpress logins for each domain/site/wp-install to manage them
      i.e.
      yourdomain1.com/wp-admin
      yourdomain2.com/wp-admin
      yourdomain3.com/wp-admin

      and so on!
