I may not understand your question, but let me see if I can answer them:

You use a template and you are trying to edit the on page meta information correct?

If you are using frontpage, first there are a couple of ways.

If you have the view panel at the bottom lefthand corner on split, you can edit the meta information this way.

If you are editing in design mode, you would right click and select page properties and under the "general" tab you can edit there.

Let me know if I answered your question correctly?

    well.. i tried that..

since its a FrontPage Template... whatever i write in Template's Page Properties goes into every other page i created using this dynamic template

If i try and manually edit page properties "General" Tab, keywords or title.. and save

it saves.. no problem.. but when i go back and check the code.. its the same old keyword and page title thats being pushed by the template.

    now ?

If that is the case, they may have some sort of css or php embedded code that is pulling from their server that they are using.

Without that, I don't see how you cannot edit pages using this feature in frontpage.

Have you tried saving with a different name and seeing if this changes the meta information?

i think you are taking a WRONG turn

I created a TEMPLATE using FRONTPAGE all by MYSELF

so i am not hosting this anywhere..

the problem is purely FRONTPAGE specific and not php or css..

its pure html and i need to know what should i do to the template so it DOES NOT block editing of Page Properties on those page which i created using this template

i hope this time you know what i am talking about

      Never ran into that problem.

you never said you created it. I thought you may have bought it somewhere. Maybe if I can see the actual html page I can look at it on my FP.

I don't use FP myself - so I can't offer any FP specific possibilities. However, it sounds like you made the Page Properties uneditable in your template. Since you created the template, can't you make these areas editable and resave your template?

seriously I don't use frontpage because I think it's so difficult.

As marketers, I believe you should spend more time on the web content rather than worrying about the web design. Use automated web tools such as site rubix

I'm sorry. I've done several Google searches trying to find something on this and am coming up blank. I use Dreamweaver to construct web pages and even then I don't use "template" to save my basic page structure so I've only got the barest idea of how they work. I don't have Frontpage on my computer so I can't open it and try to figure this out for you.

    I wish I could help.

    You can try this.
Copy the source code of one of the pages you want to change.
    Paste into Notepad.
Edit out the parts that FP added to rope off uneditable regions, and any references to the template.
Make the changes you want to make.
Save the file with a slightly different name to test with. (If the original is index.htm, try saving the new one as index2.htm)

If that works, you can delete the original file & rename the new one to whatever you like.
Lather, rinse, repeat for the rest of your pages.

For future reference, create a template page, but DON'T SAVE IT AS A TEMPLATE! Instead, create a folder called TEMPLATE and save it there. Then just copy the code when you need it for a new page.

Tim: i tried this as well.

if i manually edit the code .. then FrontPage wants me to detch the file from template and always manually edit henceforth.

i thought there should be a way to keep the file linked to template and also edit the page propoerties..

    so much pain for frontpae..

if not frontpage.. what other easy editor can i use?

Did you do exactly what I outlined? If yes, you'll need to start over, in my opinion (sometimes this is the shortcut).

I think you can get away with still using FP, but use the template process I suggested.
