What's the best opt-in strategy?

Hello Warriors,

I need some advice. On the sidebar of my homepage I have a call to action with all the benefits of opting in to my subscriber list but no opt-in form.

When you click on the "sign up" call to action you are taken to a squeeze page where you enter your contact details.

I have been advised by several people to leave it like that and several other people have told me to have the opt-in on the same page i.e. the homepage.

What do you think? Your input is highly appreciated

Why make people jump through hoops, if you want them to do something- get them to do it then and there.

Yes I get your point, the thing is they are not jumping though hoops its only one click and they opt in. The other thing is that the way my homepage is designed, an opt-in form would distort the aesthetical value and that's why I have laid it out as it is.

Thanks for your suggestion and I understand what you're saying. Guess I'll really have to rethink this one.

      Cheers

All you have to do is include the verification or input call into the form in your homepage sidebar instead of the pop up/new page.

      Hey,

Yes I know how to do that, thanks. My question was should I have them opt-in on the home page or leave it the way it is i.e. sending them to a squeeze page with the opt-in form?

      Thanks
