Hello All,

I wanted to know that what are the images or logos which make a website trustworthy. That could on the footer of the website. or at any place...which makes a user feel that the website is genuine and they can trust. This is a classifieds portal.

If you are selling something and offer a 100% money back guarantee, you should definitely add that badge at the bottom of the website.

  • It sounds like you're trying to fake authority or trust... Don't put random logos around to try and convince people you're trustworthy, unless they have some actual relevance to your site.

If people experience good service with you, they will trust you.

Yeah the icons mentioned here are meant to indicate the use of an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate Which you would also see in your URL i.e. the "s" in "https"
      https:www.mysecuresite.com

Any sit that has the icon but not the https url is a fake and probably not safe.

Much Informative but how can https" can be related to a classifieds site.. I mean an Ecommerce site uses this then its safe coz users are buying but on classifieds site everything is free from the company.

it has absolutely nothing to do with the content it is a technology / transport protocol that allows encryption of the data between the server and the clients browser. securing the data from eavesdropping or tampering. Generally You can get a certificate from your hosting company, NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO- has them for about $40 depending on the issuing authority.

You can read up on it at HTTP Secure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or just Google "SSL"

OK that 's just insanely bazaar bordering on stupid So am I to gather that it is not allowed to mention a certain hosting company's name since when I do it get replaced with the string NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-

Oh well that's someone elses obsession NMP (not my problem)

I truely agree entirely with what Gold Coast Web Design says. Just go with what it says. Credibility will make people do business with you.

Images don't simply make a website seem authoritative. It's a large combination of things. The way the site is laid out, ease of use. Design aesthetic, Content given in a non-spun way. etc. They all add up, Typography is important as well. If your site is too cramped it will look amateurish.

An easy solution is to find the best designed website you can and mimic it but change the overall base colors.

Oomda, you really want to make your website work eh We answered your other posting regards to video uploading. Starting a classified ads site in year 2012 is not the smartest thing to do. It is not about images in the footer or the header. Go to craigslist.org, backpage.com or any leading classifieds sites, they don't have images anywhere!
We tell you what you need to focus on, in order to come out as a winner. Add a blog to your site and update it once every two weeks. Add forums, monitor it like there is no tomorrow. Remove spams.
Implement Facebook Open Graph. Add RSS for each and every listing you may show in your site. Work on structured data, schema.org. Try to make a mobile app for your site. We already have told you about mod_pagespeed, make sure it is installed.
Go crazy on the promotion. Have Google Plus page, Facebook page, twitter page, squidoo, tumblr, pinterest, stumbleupon and other ones.
    Last not least, PRAY

Indeed... this is a bizarre bazaar

Do you remember when "b-l-a-c-k-h-a-t" used to be replaced by "Blue Fart"?
I guess it's a similar joke of the Admin
