Adobe photo shop question......

Hi,

I'm struggling with some problems with Adobe Photoshop CS3. I am having two issues.

1. Whenever I write text it appears as a straight line. The words don't pop up.

2. There was a point when I write text the background is in pink and the text appears in white. I read I had to put the image in RGB mode. I checked and it was in RGB mode and didn't seem to solve the problem.

I'd appreciate any feedback...

Thanks,
Mark

I like old software so I only use Photoshop 7 but as an ex PC tech I always perform the following before wasting hours to fix something...restart the machine and replicate the problem. If a problem can't be replicated after a restart it was just a corruption. If the problem still exists I try my second time saving repair dance...

    Uninstall then reinstall the software.

If that doesn't fix it then you have a problem. If not then it was just some sort of corruption and not worth agonising over.

      Hi Mark

When you type in your text does it show the new text layer in the Layers Palette ?
....it may be you are adding below a foreground image so you wont see it in the main canvas area.

      Things to check:

      1. Is the text being placed behind a layer, such as a background or image?
example: Adobe Photoshop * Layer basics

      2. Make sure the text is not the same color as the background. ie, white text on white background.

      3. Make sure the font your are using is installed and works. Test it in word, or a similar program.

      I hope this helps!
