Just made the coolest discovery I''ve been looking into getting back into ASP development but I have all these Wordpress sites hosted on Hostgator. I just got off the live Chat with them And they told me If I transferred my account over to a windows box I could move my Wordpress sites over to the Windows box no problem . That's too cool.


I really, really like how powerful ASP is

    You can (transfer WP to a Win server), just don't come back crying that certain things don't work.

    Like nice permalinks, some plugins etc.

      Yeah that stuff I'm not sure about. They said the windows boxes support Wordpress sites So generally speaking If it's running Wordpress It's also running Apache and PHP meaning your htaccess stuff should work But now that you mention t It makes m wonder just what they are doing since Windows IIS doesn't like to share port 80 so there is typically a conflict between Apache and IIS if they're both running on the same box. On the other hand they could be running some sort of VM or even Hyper-V on a Windows box that would allow them to run a Red hat server and a Windows server side by side on the same box. I guess I would have to look into it further.
