I just revisited this forum after a very long time and also just launched two websites designed with wordpress recently for my clients but they seemed not to appreciate my effort in the design.

They want something very flashy and attractive so i had to design the theme myself using artisteer but still not satisfied. Please kindly help me to check them out and please help me with suggestions on how to improve the looks of the sites: Best Of Worship and Rotimi Jacobs And Co..

    You need your main title to be more visual say in the upper right hand corner as a white text or light text. Or use a logo instead.
    The second website is better but the title again, I have a thing about logos, if you had a great header with a nice log I think it will be more appealing.

    I agree, the title on the first website is not visible; as a web designer it's very important to get as much information as you can from your client before starting a project. Some examples for questions to ask include What color scheme do they want; Examples of websites they like; The intended purpose and audience of their website; Number of pages; Brand elements they'd like incorporated, etc.
    Maybe they were expecting something else because they weren't clear in their instructions to you in the first place but it's your job as a designer to extract this information from them (from personal experience). Hope that helps.

    I think that if you decrease the width of the body of the site a bit, it will look a lot better. Right now if you scroll down, half the site has text and content while the other half is blank. Also, for the first site you may want to move the title to the left of the header since its common for people to read from left to right and it would make sense to want the first thing that visitors see to be the title. I don't know how much scripting knowledge you have, but it may be wise to move away from artisteer and custom code the sites. I have tried artisteer and though it is very simple to use, it does come with a lot of restrictions.

    I agree with what everyone is saying, it's exceptionally important to focus much of your graphic presentation onto the logo and header.
    Also, it appears that your text could se a little work, maybe being a little smaller and less opaque. Something that is simple and easy to read is usually the most appealing to the eye.
    Your color schemes, while incorporating a pleasant gradient on both sites, seems a little dark and almost unhappy on the first site. I don't mean to be offensive in any way, but try messing with simpler color schematics until you find what's best for you.
    It's been a while since I've done anything complex, just an avid hard coder since the myspace days.
