Trying to find out information about web design using maps. What I am trying to do is create part of a website with interactive maps where I can post locations. I know that I am not giving a lot of detail here but I am just looking for basic information that can point me in the right direction. It is expensive? Can I use a Google Maps application or a Bing Maps app? I am just trying to get some information without giving away my plans here. Reply to this message if you have some input and I will get back to you.

    Yes, this can easily be done with Google/Bing Maps.

    If you're using Wordpress, just search for a plugin on it. Shouldn't be hard to find.

    It's free to take a map of a marker or location on Google or Bing.
    Type your destination in the search bars and the search engines will create a PIN for you of your desired destination.
    Somewhere on that page will be a section where you can link the map and it gives you two different links:
    1. is an Iframe which can be placed on ANY HTML friendly page
    2. a link to the map directly that can be used as a hyper link.

    I found this to be a awesome wordpress plugin that will work great for what you are looking for Leaflet Maps Marker (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Bing Maps) Its so go that Craigslist has added it to the Housing section...
